Learning Tagalog

I know I was born in the Philippines and even stayed there for the first 3 years of my life. However, I can't speak any of my Mummy's local dialect not Cebuano nor Tagalog. Is it because my Mummy only speak to me on her dialect when she is angry? Now, I am jealous of my friends when they have conversation using the Tagalog. I could not understand any word and I felt left out. Gladly, my best mate (milligail) is trying to translate everything so I could understand what they are talking about. But I tell you, it is not easy and I don't like it because they can just say bad things in my back, hehehe. Now, my bestfriend is trying to teach me Tagalog and I learn few words now. It is sure difficult but I am keen to learn.
